Overall, the perk was far stronger than it should have been to always be active. Of course there are other ways the perk could have been balanced, but all in all, this isn’t a bad way of doing it. I hope that next season doesn’t have a meta dominated by felwinters but only time will tell. I bring this one up because I have seen people talking about their cqc shotguns they might use or retold tales. Hopefully, the meta will be shaken up a little and there will be more diversity in weapons in the crucible. This reduces it to doing what the perk says, buffing the draw speed of a weapon. The swap time of weapons will still be higher than without QuickDraw. It will still do what it says, and buff handling to maximum on draw time, just not on stow time or on any ads after 1 second. Archetypes with high handling will no longer be outclassed in stow and ads speed by weapons with low handling just because of a perk. Handling buffs three things: draw speed, stow speed, and ads speed. This can be seen in hand cannons and especially shotguns, where the hardest hitting archetypes dominate the meta. With QuickDraw, it quickly makes these frames the only viable options because it removes a big problem of using them. As bungie stated in the twab, aggressive frames are meant to feel sluggish to make up for the higher damage. Right now, it gets rid of downsides of hard hitting weapons and gets rid of upsides of lightweight weapons. Not only does this remove the point of increasing handling, there is no requirement to get the buff and it is always active No matter a weapon’s handling stat, it will always function as if its handling is maxed.
